The funeral services were held from the Lutheran church in Ogden Sunday forenoon, conducted by the Rev. Jipp and attended by a host of sorrowing friends, burial in Glenwood cemetery. John Reimers was born in Schleswig, Holstein, Sept. 4, 1840. The family later removed to Oltrop, where his mother died when he was six years old. He was confirmed in the Evangelical Lutheran Church at Oltrop. He came to America in 1865 and in 1869 was married to Miss Bothilde Thomsen. To this union were born six children, one daughter dying in infancy. The family resided on a farm in Amaqua township for over thirty years and in 1900 removed to Ogden where they have since resided. He revisited his native land during the summer of 1906 and returned home in poor health and continued to decline until his death. He is survived by his wife, three sons, Charles, Meinhart and John, and two daughters, Mrs. Anna Jons and Mrs. Emma Hagge all residing in the vicinity of Ogden and to whom is extended their sincere sympathy of a wide circle of friends in their bereavement. He had been an elder in the church for many years and lived a devoted Christian life and in his death Ogden and the county loses one of their best and most highly esteemed residents. A nephew Chas. H. Reimers, of Carrington, N.D., was present for the funeral.
