Services were at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Middleburg Free Grace Reformed Church in Middleburg with the Rev. Stephen Breen officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Brink was born December 8, 1918, in rural Sioux Center to Gerrit and Bertha (Altena) Intveld. She married James Brink on November 27, 1940, in rural Orange City. The couple farmed in various communities in Northwest Iowa until settling in Sioux Center in 1962. She was employed doing custodial work for Sioux Center businesses, cooked at Sioux Center Community Hospital and worked at K-Products in Sioux Center and Orange City. She entered Rock Rapids Health Centre in September 1999. She was a member of Free Grace Reformed Church. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, James Brink of Sioux Center; three children, Ronald and his wife Beverly of Ringsted, Linda Schulte and her husband John of Orange City and Delmar of Des Moines; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Alice (Andrew) Van Voorthuizen of Ontario, Canada, Martha Bruxvoort of Luverne, Minnesota, and Antoinette "Nett" Wassenaar of Ellsworth, Minnesota; a brother-inlaw, Brandt Kreun of Edgerton, Minnesota; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Julia Kreun; and three brothers-in-law. Sioux Center News 2002-03-13.
