Description	:	Johanna Vander Vegte, 86, of Hull died Saturday, Jan. 4, at the Sioux Center Community Hospital. A funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. today, Wednesday, Jan. 8, at the First Christian Reformed Church in Hull with the Rev. Roger Bouwman officiating. Interment is scheduled to follow at Hope Cemetery in Hull. Visitation was after 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Kraai-Oolman Funeral Home in Hull. Johanna was born Sept. 13, 1910, in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, the daughter of John and Suzanna (Voogt) Zevenbergen. She came to the United States in 1920. On Feb. 22, 1933, she married Herman Vander Vegte in Archer. They made their home in Hull. He died Jan. 1, 1988, in Sioux Falls, S.D. Mrs. Vander Vegte was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church. She was recognized for using insulin for 72 years to help control her diabetes. Survivors include her five daughters and four sons-in-law, Sue Van Zanten of Sioux Falls, Grace and her husband Alvin Moss of Litchfield Park, Ariz., Edith and her husband Howard Pfaff of Sioux Falls, Lynn and her husband Ed Koele of Hull, and Vickie and her husband Arlyn Van Berkum of Le Mars; a son and his wife, Harold and Leona Vander Vegte of Hull; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Arie Zevenbergen of Sheldon and John and Cornie Zevenbergen, both of Baldwin, Wis. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol, a grandson, three brothers and a sister. Sioux County Index 1997-01-08.
