Description	:	Johanna Katherine Sophie Henrietta Brandt, the daughter of Friedrich Hesemeyer and his wife, Anna, nee Kunnemann, was born at Heemsen, in the province of Hanover, Germany, on October 30th, 1881. On the 20th of November of the same year she was baptized in the name of the Triune God in the Lutheran Church at that place. Read More	Johanna Katherine Sophie Henrietta Brandt, the daughter of Friedrich Hesemeyer and his wife, Anna, nee Kunnemann, was born at Heemsen, in the province of Hanover, Germany, on October 30th, 1881. On the 20th of November of the same year she was baptized in the name of the Triune God in the Lutheran Church at that place. At the age of two, she came with her parents to America and to Douglas county, Nebraska. Her father purchased a farm near Gretna and there she spent her childhood and youth and was confirmed in the Lutheran Church. On September 28th, 1900, she was united in marriage with Mr. Hans Brandt at Gretna. This union was blessed with seven children. One son died in infancy and in 1928, three sons, Albert, Fred, and Reinhardt passed away. Following their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Brandt lived at Gretna for ten years, and in 1911, they moved to Chase County, Nebraska where they engaged in farming for a number of years. In 1929, they moved to Imperial, where Mrs. Brandt has made her home ever since. Mrs. Brandt suffered a heart attack last Thursday morning and was taken to our local hospital for treatment. She passed away very suddenly and peacefully early this past Monday morning, June 16th. She attained the age of 76 years, 7 months, and 16 days. She is survived by her husband, Hans Brandt, by one daughter, Mrs. Henrietta Mendenhall, two sons, John and Rudolph, all of Imperial, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren; two sister, Miss Anna Hesemeyer and Mrs. Sophie Meyer, both of Denver and by many other relatives. Mrs. Brandt was a life-long member of the Lutheran Church a long-time member of our Zion Congregation. For many years she was active in the work of our Ladies Aid. In all her trials she turned ot her Lord for comfort and strength. Funeral services were held June 19 at Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. W.A. Meyer giving the sermon.
