The Rev. J.A. Fritz conducted the services. Burial was in the Luckow cemetery near Ulmer. The pallbearers were Paul Johnson, Elmer Moore, Peter Dierks, William Neizeke, John Lobinus, and Clarence Wright. Mrs. Luckow, 83, died at her home five miles northeast of Breda, Friday morning at 8 o'clock. Johanna Tinnefeld was born in Rhine province, Germany, Dec 14, 1848 and at the age of 17 came with her parents, two sisters and a brother to the United States and located in Clinton county. She was united in marriage to Claus Piepgrass in 1869 and to this union two children were born, Henry Piepgrass, who lives at Breda, and William, who is dead. In 1878 Mrs. Piepgrass married Gus Luckow and they moved to a farm in Sac county near Ulmer, which has been the home for 56 years. Six children were born to this couple. A daughter, Mrs. Herman Burmeister, died in 1930. Those remaining are: Robert Luckow of Sac City; Albert Luckow of Lost Nation; Mrs Albert Burmeister of Ulmer; Fred and Mrs William Kratoff of Lake View. She also leaves 19 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs Marguerite Pithan of Sioux City; and a brother, William Tinnefeld of Lost Nation.
