Bisgard,Johannes Johnson passed to his heavenly reward last Friday evening, February 13th, 1914, he having reached the ripe old age of 79 years and 4 months. Disease incident to old age caused his death, although pneumonia was directly the cause of his demise. Mr. Johnson was born in Tjareby, Holland, Sweden, on October 13th, 1834. Disease incident to old age caused his death, although pneumonia was directly the cause of his demise. Mr. Johnson was born in Tjareby, Holland, Sweden, on October 13th, 1834. In that country he made his home for a long time, coming to this country May, 1902, coming to this city to make his future home with his daughter. He was married to Johanna Knudsen in the year 1864. To this union was born one son and four daughters. Two of the daughters died while yet quite young. One daughter and the son are still living in Sweden. The youngest daughter, Mrs. Bisgard, has resided in this city for a number of years. In 1889 Mr. Johnson was called to part from his wife, she having died on February 2nd of that year. After making his home with his two children in Sweden for a few years, he came here and ever since his arrival in this city he has made his home with the Bisgard family. The old gentleman will be greatly missed. MOstly by the Bisgard children, who were very fond of "Grandpa." The older members of the Scandinavian people will miss the old gentleman considerable, as he was a man well versed in current events and he liked to meet with and discuss different matters with his friends and acquaintances. The funeral was held on Monday from the Bisgard home, Rev. J. Chr. Pedersen, of Dannebrog, and Rev. G. M. Bing, of this city, conducting the services. Rev. Pedersen delivered the Danish sermon while Rev. Bing spoke a few well chosen words in English. After the services were concluded at the home the funeral party wended their way to Elmwood cemetery where the remains were laid to rest. A large assortment of beautiful flowers were strewn over and about the beautiful casket.
