Description	:	BIOGRAPHY Johannes Bohrer was born in 1846 in Kambar, Crimea, Russia to Martin and Philippina (Theilaker) Bohrer. In about 1871 he married Katharine Schamber, daughter of Peter and Wilhelmina (Luese) Schamber. In 1875 they boarded the ship "Klopstock" with their son Peter, and John's brother Joseph and Rosina (Schamber) Bohrer, landing in New York and continuing to Menno, Dakota Territory to homestead along the James River. Johannes married Barbara Walz, 5 Jul 1891, daughter of Johannes and Dorothea (Huber) Walz and a widow of Daniel Ruedi . They had six children: Dorothea, Hertha (m. Albert J. Sailer), Ernest (m. Amy Lindquist), J. Emil, Walter (m. Albina Sailer), and Rev. Erhard (m. Lillie Mueller). Barbara died 27 Apr 1899 shortly after childbirth. Johannes married Jakobina Roth, 22 Dec 1899, daughter of Jakob Roth and Elisabetha (Walz), and former wife of Jacob Guenthner. Around 1900 the family came to Expansion where he owned a general merchandise store. He decided to return to farming and purchased land north of Mannhaven on the Ft. Stevenson Military Reservation in 1903. The land was located along the "Big Bend" of the Missouri River. Following Johannes' retirement his sons continued to farm the land until the Garrison Damn was built. Jakobina died in 1917. Johannes married Emelia Frank 23 Jul 1918. She was born 17 Dec 1850 in Josephstal, Odessa to Bernhard and Adelhaide (Walter) Frank and a widow of Andreas Specht. They lived in Hazen until his death in 1926. Emilia died 17 Aug 1936.
