Source unknown, March 1936. Johann Zacher Johann Zacher was born February 29, 1862, at Teplitz, South Russia. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church, of which he was a life long member. In 1885 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Hissung and to this union 11 children were born. October 24, 1905, he and his family came to America. They lived near Linton, North Dakota, and two years later, he brought his family to what was then Morton County, settling on a homestead 15 miles southeast of Elgin, where he quietly passed away Wednesday morning, March 11, 1936, at 6:00 a.m. after an illness of six weeks, at the age of 74 years and 11 days. He leaves to mourn his death his widow; six sons and four daughters, John of Detroit, Michigan, Fred of Woodland, California, Mrs. Frank Guilbault of St. Paul, Minnesota, Chris, David, Ed, Reinhold, Bertha, Mrs. Richard Rivinius and Mrs. Dave Krause all fo Elgin; as well as two sisters and many friends and relatives.
