On that marriage record, Minnie named her parents as George W. and Hattie (Brooks) Drake. Hattie's name has also been transcribed incorrectly as Hatter in the ancestry.com record. Minnie was first married to Clifford Rockhold on January 2, 1906, in Corydon, Iowa. She married J.O. Mullen on January 25, 1916, in Wapello County, Iowa. In John's obituary, which I have transcribed below, his middle initial was given incorrectly as "D." Also, I believe that the daughter Agnes named in his obituary, was actually his step-daughter. Agnes is shown in the 1910 Census for Ottumwa, Iowa, with her parents, Clifford and Minnie Rockhold. I have transcribed the obituary as written. --------------- Obituary From "Ottumwa Daily Courier," Monday, November 1, 1948, Page 18: JOHN D. DOSER. Word has been received of the death Sunday in Denver of John D. Doser, 62, a retired switchman. He formerly lived in Ottumwa. He had been suffering with a heart ailment for several months. However, death came unexpectedly. While he lived in Ottumwa, Mr. Doser worked for the Milwaukee railroad. He later worked for the Colorado and Southern railroad in Colorado. Survivors include his wife, his daughter Gladys, two brothers, Joe Doser of Ottumwa and Frank of Chariton, and a sister, Mrs. John Bray of Richland. The body will be returned to Ottumwa and burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.
