John was born on August 21, 1952 in Columbus, Nebraska to Milan and Elaine Lueschen and grew up in Creston, Nebraska with his siblings, Diane Baumert, Don Lueschen, Tom Lueschen, Sue Lueschen and Ron Lueschen. John graduated from Leigh High School in 1970. He enlisted in the Army National Guard in 1970 where he served until 1976. John married Catherine Bernt (d. 1998) in 1972 and they had 3 children, Brian Lueschen of Columbus, NE, Cory Lueschen of Columbus, NE, and Sarah and husband Dave Schoenauer of Osmond, NE; and 3 grandchildren, Mackenzie Schmidt and Henley and Breccan Schoenauer. In 2000, John moved to Kent, Washington with Lynn Sheldon whom he married in 2001. John's extended family includes stepchildren, Jamie and Steve Stubben, Jason and Melanie Karel and Cassi Newman (Robert Miller); grandchildren, Zach Stubben, Cody Karel (Allyson Lindstrom), Jake and Kristen Stubben, and Jonathon Newman; and great grandchildren, Carter and Blake Stubben, all of Washington state. John was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Cathy; and his brother Tom. John was employed by NC Power Systems for 20 years where he met many great coworkers and friends. He loved to be outdoors, was an avid hunter, and enjoyed fishing more than anyone. John was also very passionate about his family and always looked forward to spending time with them. He was loved by many and touched the hearts of everyone he met. He made many friends in his short time across many plains and was cherished by all of us that knew him. He was a dad and grandpa who had a great impact on his family, with a trust that cannot be explained and security that cannot be defined. Happy, cheery smiles, a deep contagious laugh, and an endearing warm heart. Always happy, always positive, always loving. John, you will be missed! A celebration of life will be held at 2pm on Saturday, March 19th at Hope Lutheran Church in Enumclaw.
