Description	:	John Allen married Fidela Wright in 1836. They have three children, Ellen, Alvin, and John W. They farmed first in Parkman Ohio and returned to Eagleville in 1856 when they bought Fidelia's brother, Alvin's farm. The first photo is looking into the family plot from the driveway. The obelisk is John and Fidelia's marker. The two small stones to the left are those of Moses Wright and his wife Esther Hurd -- the inscriptions have worn off. Allen, John and Fidelia's son who disappeared for 50 years around the time of the Civil War. In 1906, he contacted the Eagleville postmaster to inquire if any of the John Allen family was still living there and came back to visit shortly after. He was living in Arkansas where he owned a feed store. I'm still trying to determine if this headstone was erected by his family assuming him dead or if he was returned to Ohio for burial when he died in 1927.
