Mr. Mimms died Wednesday, May 13, at his home. Mr. Mimms was born December 22, 1923 in Orangeburg, to Miles Eugene Mimms and Lillian B. Ayers Mimms. Because of the death of his parents, he was brought up by Durham Bozard and Mellie Ayers Bozard (his uncle and aunt). He served in the US Marine Corp and was a veteran of World War II. Most of all he loved God and his church; Cana of Galilee Pentecostal Holiness Church where he was one of the founders and was very active in all capacities of the church. He was retired from Edisto Gas Company. He was predeceased by his wife, Janie Sweatman Mimms, a daughter, Lillie Marie Mimms; twin brother, Aubrey E. Ayers, brothers, Edward Neese, M. T. Judy and Mack Ayers. Leaving behind his four daughters and sons; Pat and Jay Hughes, Laura and Marion Kemmerlin, Shirley and Charles DeHay and Johnnie Oxner; special family, Clarence and Peggy Sweatman, Aubrey and Gene Sandifer, M. E. and Clara Sweatman, Lola Martin, Leila Jackson, Virginia Hutto, James and Abby Bozard, Betty Jean and David Ott, Edna Judy and Pretto Ayers. Mr. Mimms loved his grands, great grands, nieces, nephews, his family and many wonderful friends.
