Mr. Kanne, who had undergone major surgery June 19, had planned to return home Monday or Tuesday. He had been in ill health the past year. Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Lawrence Church. The Rev. Arthur S. Poeckes will offer requiem mass. Burial will be in the family lot in St. Joseph's Cemetery. The body, now at the Sharp Funeral home here, will be taken to the family home at 2 p. m. Monday. The rosary will be prayed at the funeral home at 8 o'clock tonight and also Sunday evening. Fr. Poeckes will lead the rosary at the family home at 8 o'clock Monday night. Mr. Kanne, son of Anton and Theresa Kanne, was born Feb. 21, 1897, on the Kanne homestead in Kniest township four miles north of Carroll. The place is known as the Kanne Brothers farm. He was a veteran of World War I. He was married to Genevieve Wieland Sept. 8, 1926, at St. Joseph Church here by Monsignor Stephen Butler. Mr. and Mrs. Kanne established their home on a farm three and one-half miles north of Carroll. They lived there until 1948, when they moved to their farm one mile east and there miles north of Carroll, which is the present home. Survivors include his widow; three sons and three daughters: Robert and Earl Kanne, Carroll; Mrs. Edwin (Inez) Kasperbauer, Jefferson; Lillian, Marie and Roy, at home; five grandchildren; and the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. Josephine Baumhover, Mrs. John A. Baumhover, Julius, Elizabeth, Clara, Leo, Albert and Anton F. Kanne, Carroll. His mother died in 1925 and his father in 1932. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Lillian, and two infant sons, John and Bernard. Mr. Kanne was a member of St. Lawrence church and the Holy Name society of the parish.
