Description	:	John Alva Cass, 84, of Bonaparte died at 7:22 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2011, at Donnellson Health Center. Born July 8, 1926, in Bonaparte, he was the son of Dwayne and Trilla Meyers Cass. Mr. Cass farmed the family farm south of Bonaparte and worked as a mechanic at Lamborn Ford in Farmington. He also was parts manager at Bloomfield Ford. He graduated from Bonaparte High School, and served in the Army in Korea during the Korean War. He was a member of 106th Ordnance Association and past member of American Legion and farm bureau. He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents and one brother. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, where family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. The funeral for Mr. Cass will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Pedrick Funeral Home, with Larry Shipley officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Bonaparte Cemetery. Memorials have been established for Donnellson Health Center and Bonaparte Cemetery.
