Description	:	John Anderson 83, of rural Knoxville, passed away March 1, 1992 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Services were held on March 4 at Williams Funeral Home in Knoxville, and interment was held at Olive Chapel Cemetery , Marion Co. Mr. Anderson was born on April 18, 1908 in Coalfield , the son of Charles Forest and Laura Belle Korn Anderson. He was one of five children born to this union, three boys and two girls. Read More	John Anderson 83, of rural Knoxville, passed away March 1, 1992 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Services were held on March 4 at Williams Funeral Home in Knoxville, and interment was held at Olive Chapel Cemetery , Marion Co. Mr. Anderson was born on April 18, 1908 in Coalfield , the son of Charles Forest and Laura Belle Korn Anderson. He was one of five children born to this union, three boys and two girls. John spent most of his early life with his family as they moved from coal mining camp to camp. John went to work in the mines when he was only 16 years old and worked in all the big mines in this area before the last big mine in Pershing closed. He was married to Zora Evelyn Busick on July 10, 1943 in Knoxville.The family was blessed with 4 children; two girls, Sharon and Sandra, and two boys, John Jr. and Alfred. After John and Zora were married John still worked in the coal mines and also farmed a little on the side. After the mines were worked out they had a small farm hear the thousand acres which they farmed for several years. John later began work for Maytag Company in Newton and eventually retired from there in 1971. John was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Sharon in 1981; two brothers and two sisters. Those family members surviving him are his wife, Zora of rural Knoxville, a daughter, Mrs. Dick (Sandra) Vrban of Knoxville, two sons, John Jr. of Knoxville and Alfred, also of Knoxville; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and many other relatives and a host of friends.
