Description	:	John August Johnson Rites Conducted Friday Funeral services for John August Johnson, who passed away December 13 at Glendale, Calif., were conducted here Friday, Dec. 18 at Zion Lutheran Church with the Rev. Adolph Lillich, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Laurence Iauch, Chas. Scheer, Victor Ebel, Henry Sebade, Ray Stokes and George Wulff. John August Johnson, son of Jonas Peter and Elizabeth Johnson, was born at Funghult, Sweden on Aug. 3, 1861. John August Johnson, son of Jonas Peter and Elizabeth Johnson, was born at Funghult, Sweden on Aug. 3, 1861. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church in his native country and remained faithful to the church until his death. He came to the United States and worked in Chicago, Ill. for five years. He bought a farm at Nadeau, Mich. and returned to Sweden in 1892 where he was united in marriage to Ida Carolina Lundberg. They returned to Nadeau and settled on their farm. Thirteen years later he sold out to his nephew and moved to Creighton where he lived until five years ago, when he and his wife went to Glendale, Calif. to make their home with their daughter, Mrs. Harvey Newquist. Mr. Johnson enjoyed good health most of his long life, until a few years ago. He passed away in Glendale, Calif. December 13 at the age of 92. Surviving are his widow, Ida Carolina Johnson; two daughters, Mrs. Harvey (Constance) Newquist and Mrs. Charles (Nettie) Lambert of Creighton; two sons, Elmer and Raymond Johnson of Creighton; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and his youngest sister in Sweden.
