John August Peterson was born October 19, 1860, at Muriena, Kalmar Lan, Sweden. In 1868 he, with his parents, came to America, settling at Galesburg, Ill. Read More	PETERSON, JOHN AUGUST—John August Peterson died at his home in Geneva, Neb., at 9:15 a.m., December 15, 1922, aged 62 years, 1 month, and 27 days. John August Peterson was born October 19, 1860, at Muriena, Kalmar Lan, Sweden. In 1868 he, with his parents, came to America, settling at Galesburg, Ill. In 1880 he removed with his parents to a farm in Chelsea township, Nebraska. December 7, 1884, he was married to Mary Ellen Churchill of Geneva. They lived in Chelsea township until 1910, when they removed to Geneva, where he resided until his death. To this union was born seven children, four sons and three daughters. Two children preceded him in death, Elsworth, who died in infancy, and Mrs. Dena Nun, who died October 10, 1918. He is survived by his wife and five children, Oscar A. of Shickley; Lee E. of Torrington, Wyo.; Howard F. of Shickley; Mrs. Frank Bumgardner of Moscow, Idaho, and Mrs. Clyde Michaels of Geneva, also fourteen grandchildren and one brother, W.C. Peterson of Geneva,; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Nelson of Geneva and Mrs. John Holmberg of Upland, Neb., besides a host of friends. Mr. Peterson at an early age was confirmed into the Swedish Lutheran church, and tried in every way he could to live up to his faith. He was loving and kind to all those around him He was a good and faithful husband and a kind and loving father and of everyone he met he always made a friend. All that loving hearts and willing hands could do was done, but he was called from all his suffering to his eternal home. The funeral was held at the Methodist church in Geneva at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, December 17, and was conducted by Rev. R. H. Thompson. Interment was in the Geneva Cemetery.
