Ayres Passed Away Last Night - Had Been Suffering From Dropsy For Some Time Passed Away At Hershey Hospital - Remains To Be Taken To Wilton, Iowa, This Afternoon Death came this morning at 3 o'clock at Hershey hospital here to John Ayres, an old resident of Cedar county. Mr. Ayres, who was eighty-three years old at the time of his death, had been ailing with dropsy for some time, and about two weeks ago was brought to this city and taken to Hershey hospital. Mr. Ayres was well known in and about the city of Wilton, having made his home in that vicinity for a number of years. Obituary - John Ayres was born in the state of Pennsylvania on the 9th day of March, 1818 (actually 1827). He has resided in the vicinity of Wilton, Ia., for a number of years, and was one of Cedar county's most respected citizens. He leaves to survive him five children: Mrs. Fred Forbes, of Palmer, Neb.; David Ayres, of Bennett, Ia.; Mrs. Walter Macklem, of Ida Grove, Ia.; Augustus Ayres, of Spencer, Ia.; Mrs. L.C. Kiser, of Wilton, Ia.; also one brother, Reuben Ayres, of Los Angeles; and three sisters, Mrs. John Dice and Mrs. James Gano, both of Wilton, Ia., and Mrs. A. C. Blizzard, of Malcolm, Ia. Funeral - No arrangements as of yet have been made for the funeral. The remains will be taken to Wilton this afternoon at 3:20. Internment will be made at Moneka cemetery.
