He was 84 years, 2 months, 25 days old and was born in Nottingham. He was by trade a shoe cutter. Having lived in Exeter not quite a year, he had made comparatively few acquaintances here. A widow, a son Horace M. Hoitt, and grandchildren survive him. On Monday the remains were taken to South Deerfield, a farm home and buried in the family lot in the Batchelder cemetery.
