Description	:	Deaths-Funerals---J. B. Collins J.B. Collins, 84, 1601 First Avenue South, died Saturday in a local hospital after being ill the past three weeks. He was born in Baywood, Virginia and grew up there. After graduating from Radford College in Virginia he taught four years at a junior high school in Independence, Virginia, then studied mechanical engineering in Kansas City, Missouri. Collins, 84, 1601 First Avenue South, died Saturday in a local hospital after being ill the past three weeks. He was born in Baywood, Virginia and grew up there. After graduating from Radford College in Virginia he taught four years at a junior high school in Independence, Virginia, then studied mechanical engineering in Kansas City, Missouri. Collins had also worked as an accountant for the Texaco Oil Company in North Carolina before moving to Montana in 1928. He and Geneva May Hampton were married at Portage in April 1929. He farmed until the time of his death in the Portage area and was also a building contractor for many years. A musician who played the fiddle and banjo, Collins was a charter member of the Great Falls Trap and Skeet Club, and served several terms as president of that group. He was a charter member of the Sun River Skeet Club and a life member of the National Rifle Association. He was president of the Portage Community Hall and served many years on the District 72 school board. Collins belonged to First Presbyterian Church in Great Falls, was a 33rd Degree Mason and a Shriner and a member of the Algeria Temple. His wife survives with a daughter, Mae Carol Zeman, Great Falls; and his brother, W. G. Collins, in Arizona. Funeral services are pending at Croxford and Sons Mortuary.
