Maybury, 87, local banker and merchant, died last night at his home, 95 East Hampshire Street. In failing health for some time, he had been downtown only occasionally in the last two years and had been confined to his room since January, Requiem High Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Prayers will be offered at the home tomorrow night at 8 o'clock. Members of Chief Justice Taney Assembly, Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, will form a guard of honor. The directors of the First National Bank of Piedmont will be honorary pallbearers. Born near West Union, W.Va., Mr. Maybury came to Westernport in 1875 and had resided in the Tri-Towns since that time. He was a son of the late Henry and Frances (Kreyenbuhl) Maybury. Since 1897, he operated a store on Ashfield Street, Piedmont. In the banking business for sixty years, he was a director and former president of the First National Bank, and in recent years had served as chairman of the board of directors. For many years he had been a director of the Piedmont Grocery Company and since 1947 was vice president. A member of St. Peter's Church, he was also a member of the Holy Name Society of the parish. He was a charter member of Piedmont Council Knights of Columbus 685, and was a member of Chief Justice Taney Assembly, Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus. Mr. Maybury was married sixty-three years ago to Mary Charlotte McMillen, who survives together with six children, Miss Louise and Bernard Maybury at home; Mrs. Clara Laffey, Mrs. Frances Laffey and Joseph Maybury of Piedmont, and Robert Maybury of Westernport. Two sisters, Misses Mary and Lena Maybury of Westernport, and a brother, Frank Maybury of Clarksburg, also survive. There are also four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren." Maybury, 87, who died last Wednesday evening at his home, East Hampshire Street, Piedmont, was celebrated Saturday morning in St. Peter's Catholic Church, Westernport. The Rev. George J. Pugh, assistant pastor, was celebrant of the Mass. The Rev. Charles H. Quinn was in the sanctuary. Interment was in the parish cemetery. Active pallbearers were Elmer Kolberg, Alphonsus Determan, Francis Mertz, Raymond Beckner, William M. Thompson, James Cirillo, Charles W. Pendergast and Allan Miller, members of Piedmont Council 685, Knights of Columbus, of which Mr. Maybury was a charter member. Honorary pallbearers were Raymond C. Hudson, John B. Determan, Guthrie Luke, J. Milton McIntyre and W. Harold Fredlock, directors of the First National Bank of Piedmont. Members of Chief Justice Taney General Assembly, Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, formed a guard of honor at the church and at the grave."
