Description	:	John "Bryce" Johnson, 74, of rural Holdrege died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Bryce was born February 28, 1936 at Holdrege, the youngest of two children born to John Andrew and Jennie "Pauline" (Triplett) Johnson. Bryce received his education from Holdrege Public Schools, graduating from Holdrege High School with the class of 1953. He then pursued higher education at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, where he lettered with the swim team and graduated in 1959. Read More	John "Bryce" Johnson, 74, of rural Holdrege died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Bryce was born February 28, 1936 at Holdrege, the youngest of two children born to John Andrew and Jennie "Pauline" (Triplett) Johnson. Bryce received his education from Holdrege Public Schools, graduating from Holdrege High School with the class of 1953. He then pursued higher education at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, where he lettered with the swim team and graduated in 1959. Following his education he was united in marriage to Martha Roberts and to this union two children were born: John Bryce Johnson Jr. and Andrew Eric Johnson. Bryce's life was always focused on his love for the farm. He also served as a Sales Representative for The John Manville Corporation, retiring in 1994 and returning home to the family farm. Bryce enjoyed sailing, chamber music, reading science journals, socializing, and coffee time with his friends. He is survived by his son, Andrew Eric "Andy" Johnson of Seattle, Washington; his aunt, Mary B. Johnson of Holdrege; special friend, Wanda M. Lee of Overland Park, Kansas and her family of the Kansas City area; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Bryce was preceded in death by his parents; son, John Bryce "J. B." Johnson Jr.; and sister, Pauline "LaMaryce" Anderson and her husband, Wayne. Published in the Kearney Hub on 9/16/2010
