"Johnny" Andrew, 66, of Vevay, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008, in Vevay. He was born July 23, 1942, in Madison, the son of Stanley and Jean Heath Andrew. He was a 1960 graduate of Central High School. After high school, he was employed for several years at Maddox Tobacco Warehouse. He was a farmer on the east end of Vevay for 44 years. He raised a large crop of tobacco and enjoyed raising cattle. He was a member of the Switzerland County Antique Tractor Club and was proud of his 1954 MTA Antique Tractor. He was active in the Switzerland County Extension Club and was a 4-H leader for 16 years. He was the Jefferson 2 precinct committeeman for the Switzerland County Republican Party and a member of the Switzerland County Farm Bureau. He was instrumental in the pedal pull at the Switzerland County 4-H Fair every year. He enjoyed farming, NASCAR, cattle shows and a hard day's work. He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Bowman Andrew, whom he married July 9, 1964; two sons, Billy Andrew of Vevay and Jay Andrew of Lugoff, S.C.; one daughter, Jill Richards of Mount Sterling; one brother, Don Andrew of Dillsboro; one sister, Judy Smith of Madison; six grandchildren; one niece; two nephews; four great-nephews; and one great-niece. He was preceded in death by his parents. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay. Burial will be in Vevay Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Johnny Andrew 4-H Endowment in care of the Community Foundation of Switzerland County.
