Following a long illness from paraly- sis, John C. Brown, living a half-mile north of Curtisville, died at 12:30 o'clock this morning, he had been sink- ing rapidly of late and the end was not unexpected when it came. The deceased was born June 9, 1835, and had lived in the Curtisville vicinity for almost 45 years, being one of the pioneers of that neighbor- hood. He was married 51 years ago to Miss Nancy Hurst, who survives him. Twelve children were born of the union and seven of these are liv- ing. The deceased was one of the most highly respected men in the commun- ity in which he lived and it is the feel- ing of all that too much cannot be said of the splendid life he lived. His loss will be deeply mourned among a large circle of friends. The funeral will be held Thursday at 1 o'clock at the Curtisville church, Rev. Polly Couch in charge, and inter- ment will follow in the Curtisville cemetery.
