Description	:	John C. Gasson, 87, of St. Marys, and formerly of Versailles, died at 2:35 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007, at Otterbein St. Marys Retirement Community in St. Marys. He was born Sept. 25, 1920, in Versailles, a son of John P. and Ella (Poly) Gasson, and they preceded him in death. On Aug. 16, 1941, he married Dorothy M. (Dapore) Gasson, and she preceded him in death. He was born Sept. 25, 1920, in Versailles, a son of John P. and Ella (Poly) Gasson, and they preceded him in death. On Aug. 16, 1941, he married Dorothy M. He is survived by two sons, Denis (Joan) Gasson of St. Marys and James Gasson of Fort Worth, Texas; three daughters, Carol (David) Coyle of Coldwater, Mich., Jane (David) McNeal of Wapakoneta, Mary (Rick) Trego of Fort Wayne, Ind., nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Virginia Goubeaux of Versailles. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Pohl and Florence Groff; and three brothers, Paul, Jerome and Cletus Gasson. He worked at the family business, Gasson Poultry Farm, and also worked at Hobart Brothers in Troy for 15 years. He is a member of St. Denis Catholic Church, Versailles, a life member of the Versailles Knights of Columbus, a member of the Versailles Eagles, and he was instrumental in organizing the Versailles Poultry Days. He recently attended Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Marys. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, at St. Denis Catholic Church, 14 East Wood St., Versailles, with the Rev. David Vincent officiating. Burial will follow in St. Valbert Cemetery in Versailles. Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m., Friday, and from 9 to 10 a.m., Saturday, at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, 653 Hickey Ave., Versailles. The Versailles Knights of Columbus will hold a prayer service Friday evening at the funeral home.
