Mr. Kesler died April 6, 2011. Born July 21, 1943, he was the son of the late Frank and Vera Ellisor Kesler. Mr. Kesler died April 6, 2011. Born July 21, 1943, he was the son of the late Frank and Vera Ellisor Kesler. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in Desert Storm and Noble Eagle and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. Surviving are his wife, Anita Kesler of the home; sons, Stephen J. Kesler of Atlanta, John J. Kesler (Meredith) of Spartanburg; daughter, Amanda C. Kesler of Irmo; grandchildren, Libby, Chloe, Will and Taylor; sisters, Mary Fordham, Vivian Frick and Ann Weathersbee. He was predeceased by a sister, Nell Schauf. From Military Marksmanship Association newsletter: Master Sergeant John C. Kesler, 67, a resident of Irmo, South Carolina died on April 6, 2011. MSG Kesler served in Operation Desert Storm during the Iraq War and Homeland Security Operation Noble Eagle. He was a member of the "All" USAR Rifle Team and was awarded the U. S. Army Distinguished Rifleman Badge in 1975. John retired from the U. S. Postal Service after 27 years of service and was owner and operator of Kesler Logging.
