Description	:	John Charles RIGGS was born November 26, 1945 in Lakeside, Berrien Co., MI. He was the fourth child born to John William and Daisy Evelyn WELLS RIGGS. At the time of his birth John's family lived in the Orchard Beach area, which was a popular summer resort along Lake Michigan, in Southwestern MI. He started his education at... Read More	John Charles RIGGS was born November 26, 1945 in Lakeside, Berrien Co., MI. He was the fourth child born to John William and Daisy Evelyn WELLS RIGGS. At the time of his birth John's family lived in the Orchard Beach area, which was a popular summer resort along Lake Michigan, in Southwestern MI. His parents were employed there as caretaker and housekeeper for the Montelegra family, owners of the resort at that time. While his parents were at work, John was in the care of his sister, Peggy. He started his education at the Lakeside Elementary School, and then attended New Buffalo Highschool, in New Buffalo, MI. John married Cynthia Ann BALZAR. They had a son, John Allen RIGGS in 1965. They later were divorced. In 1968 John enlisted in the Army and was released in 1972. He was later injured in an auto accident resulting in severe damage to one of his arms, which required surgery. Having then married Mabel Leona TEETER, they and their daughters, Lisa and Kristina, settled in Three Oaks, MI. On Sept. 28, 1980 John died as a result of complications with his previous arm injury. He was laid to rest in the cemetery at Lakeside, MI, where he was later joined by his father and mother. John is remembered as a beautiful baby, a kind and gentle youth, and a good, loving man. May he Rest in Peace.
