He was born in Kokomo on November 6, 1869, the son of Peter and Sarah Christner, and was married May 6, 1892 to Amanda Shrock. He was engaged in farming for the greater part of his life. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Amanda Christner; ten children, Mrs. Laura Thomas, Mrs. Mabel Petty, Raymond Christner, John Wilson Christner, and Mrs. Marjorie Yorty, all of Kokomo; Mrs. Bertha Stepler of Greentown; Harry Christner of North Grove; William Christner of Sharpsville; Mrs. Mary Copeland of Ft. Thomas, Kentucky; and Mrs. Mildred White of Bunker Hill; 19 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. the body will be removed from the Ladd Funeral Home here to the family residence Monday morning at 11 o'clock after which time friends are invited to call. For an hour preceding the funeral, the body will lie in state at the Waupecong United Brethren Church where services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock by the Rev. Alva Ward. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Kokomo.
