He was born March 6, 1928, on a farm south of Milford to John H. and Viola (Cordes) Danekas. He attended Milford Public Schools and was a 1946 graduate of Milford High School. Read More	John Clarence Danekas Obit John Clarence Danekas, 69, Milford, died Tuesday, April 8, 1997, in Milford. He was born March 6, 1928, on a farm south of Milford to John H. and Viola (Cordes) Danekas. He attended Milford Public Schools and was a 1946 graduate of Milford High School. On Sept. 2, 1950, he married Marjorie Burkey in Lincoln. Mr. Danekas was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and served from 1950 to 1952. He then returned to Nebraska, where he farmed south of Milford for many years. Upon retiring from farming, he worked part-time as a van driver for Educational Service Unit 6 in Milford. He was a member of the Milford United Methodist Church and American Legion Post 171. Mr. Danekas also served on the Farmers Co-op Board and the boards of School District 84 and Milford Public Schools District 5. He enjoyed fishing with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John H. and Viola Danekas, a sister, Marilyn Gammel, and a brother, William Danekas. Survivors include his wife, Marjorie, Milford; son and daughter-in-law, John W. and Rhonda Danekas, Valley; daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Dennis Dirckx, Tyler, Minn., and Cheryl and Justin Gragg, Hunstville, Ala.; eight grandchildren, one great-grandson, nieces and nephews. Memorial services were Friday, April 11, at the United Methodist Church, Milford, with the Rev. Anderson Kwankin officiating. Committal of the cremains was at Pleasant View Cemetery.
