John Heins of Surprise being killed instantly and Warner Siedensticker of Garrison dying from his injuries Sunday afternoon at the Shelby hospital. Miss Vivian Knerr, riding in the back seat of the car with Mr. Siedensticker, was rendered unconscious in the crash, but recovered a few hours later, managed to get out of the car and walked to a farm house for help. She is in the Shelby hospital. Miss Knerr, formerly of Polk county, had returned from California recently to become the bride of Mr. Siedensticker on June 14. They and Mr. Heins and Miss Margaret Duren had spent the evening in Shelby, and were returning after taking Miss Duren to her home. Mr. Heins was driving his Chrysler sedan and failed to make the turn on a dead-end road six miles southeast of Osceola. The car plunged into a dirt bank with such force that the front end was telescoped into the car, demolishing it. Mr. Heins, 46 years of age was a world war veteran. He and a brother, Henry, and a sister, Miss Katie, resided on the home farm near Surprise. Other brothers and sisters who survive him are Herman and Jacob Heins of Garrison, Albert Heins and Mrs. Anna Klingemann of Ulysses, Mrs. Lou Sanley of Surprise and Mrs. Mary Martens of Rising City. Mr. Siedensticker, 31 years of age, is survived by his sister, Mrs. John Folkerts of Garrison, and their mother, who returned to Germany a few weeks ago. He had been working in Iowa for some time past. Both men were highly respected and well liked, and had many friends who mourn their sudden passing. Double funeral services were conducted at the German Lutheran church, south of Garrison, by Rev.
