Description	:	Clinton Herald Wednesday November 9, 1949 John F. Claussen, 82, died this morning in his farm home between Charlotte and Goose Lake. The body is in Delmar funeral home where arrangements are incomplete. Friends may call after Thursday until the day of services. The Rev. Herbert Shaffer will officiate and burial will be in Clinton Memorial Park cemetery. Mr. Claussen was born March 3, 1867, at the home farm, where he lived his entire life except for 21 years when he conducted a produce business in Charlotte. He returned to farming in 1924. He was active in community affairs both here and at Goose Lake. He was of the Lutheran faith, but he had attended the Charlotte Methodist church. Surviving are the widow; two sons, Robert of Grand Mound and Jack at home; two daughters, Mrs. Leo Harmsen of Teeds Grove and Mrs. William Zaiser at Fulton, Ill.; six grandchildren; one brother, Charles of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Mrs. Charles Anslinger of Sacramento, Calif.. and Mrs. Emma Petersen of Charlotte.
