Born, raised and educated in Taber, AB, Dad was the youngest of eleven children born to Elizabeth and William Pierson. Dad worked various jobs in Taber during the "dirty thirties" including the cannery, hardware and lumber businesses. In January 1939, he married Margaret Brown and together they had three daughters. In 1953 the family moved to Medicine Hat, AB. Dad retired in 1981 and enjoyed golfing, woodworking and gardening.
