John Cochran resided at at Iroquois, Kingsbury County, South Dakota, in Mar. 1882; His obituary states that he lived in 'this vicinity' of Iowa since his arrival at age four, 'excepting for about ten years when he was in South Dakota.' An unknown source claims that his wife, Nettie Jane Cochran - Darland, while in her mid twenties, moved to South Dakota with her parents (abt. 1882?). He died on 8. Apr. 1908 at Iowa at age 73. He was buried a 8. Apr. 1908 at Center Point city cemetery, Linn County, Iowa; There is an 'IOOF emblem' on his grave stone. He was a lodge member of the International Organization of Odd Fellows.
