Coker, 76, retired rancher who has lived in Alliance for the past three years, passed away Saturday afternoon at the home of his sister, Miss Lizzie Coker, at 712 West Second street. Mr. Coker was born in Morgan county, Ill., Dec. 17, 1859. He moved to Missouri with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Coker, when still a boy and grew to manhood there. He was engaged in ranching in Wyoming before coming to Alliance. Surviving are four sisters, Miss Coker of Alliance, Mrs. O. A. Hagaman of Alliance, Mrs. J. W. Johns of Chillicothe, Mo., and two brothers, A. G. Coker of Boise, Ida., and A. L. Coker of Ellensburg, Wash. Funeral services were held at the Baptists church at 2:30 p.m. Monday afternoon, Rev. C. L. Wiseman officiating. Burial was in a rural cemetery several miles southwest of Alliance. The Landa Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
