The entire community was cast into gloom by the sad and sudden ending of the deceased. He had retired in apparent good health on Tuesday night and when his daughter called him the next morning his lifeless body was found beside the bed. He had apparently been dead but a short time, and we understand had previously complained of his heart troubling him. Funeral services were conducted Friday morning from the Catholic church, Father Roach, of Nebraska City, officiating, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery, beside those of his wife, who died a year ago. Mr. Danaher was born in Limrick, Ireland, and was 68 years old at time of his taking off. He came to America and made his home in Ohio when twelve years of age. He was there for a few years and then moved to Bloomington, Ill., where he made his home for twenty-nine years. During the war in the 60's the deceased was engaged in carrying the mail between Bloomington and Chicago. He came to Butler county February 14, 1886. Before leaving Illinois he was united in marriage with Miss Bridget Conden. Eleven children are left to mourn, viz: Miss Agnes, Mrs. Gray, James, J. W., Michael, Daniel, Con and Richard, all of David City; William, of Des Moines, Iowa; Mrs. Nellie Folan, of Sioux City, Ia.; and Mrs. Kate Seward, of Lincoln. ``````````` Peoples Banner (David City, Nebr.), May 14, 1908, p. 2, col. 3 Died John Danaher died May 6th, aged about 68 years. Funeral services were held Friday, conducted by Father Roche, and the remains were interred in the Catholic cemetery. Mr. Danaher was a native of Limerick, Ireland. When twelve years of age he came to America and lived in Ohio and Illinois until 1886, when he came to Butler county. He was married in Chicago to Miss Bridget Couden, who died about a year ago. Eleven children survive: Jas., J. W., Michael, Daniel, Con., Richard, Mrs. Anna Gray and Miss Agnes, all of Butler county; William, of Des Moines, Mrs. Nellie Folan of Sioux City, Mrs. Kate Seward of Lincoln.
