Description	:	John Dare, the second son of Rebecca (née Belange) and William Dare, was born 25 October 1796 on his family's homestead in Bridgeton, New Jersey. "[He] was quite young when he removed to Baltimore, Md., where he learned tailoring with his uncle, Ephraim Dare. On his way to Harper's Ferry [now in West Virginia], he stopped at Jefferson, Md., where he met Susan Hershberger, daughter of Henry Hershberger, a large landowner. This lady afterwards became his wife." Their children are: "1, Catherine R., married M. M. Garry, M. D., resides in Franklin County, Pa.; 2 Mary...
