John Myers was born August 23,1927, at Douds, Iowa to Harvey Andrew and Merle Looney Myers . He married Barbara Rice on June 14 ,1962 ,at Unionville ,Mo. He graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1945. He was a butcher by trade ,working from Ottumwa, Oskaloosa and Des Moines. He was survived by his wife,Barbara of Oskaloosa,a son Frank Myers and his wife ,Linda of Des Moines,A daughter and her husband ,Linda and Joe Butler of Norwalk, three step children ,Joe Beal Jr.of Oskaloosa, Mike Beals of Memphis,tn, and Alvin Beal of Ft.Campbell Kentucky, and one step daughter, Elizabeth Gibbons of Yakama, Wash. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren Joey Butler, Lori Myers, Bobby Butler ,Jennifer Butler Gracey, Eddy Butler, and Tina Myers Corley, 13 great grandchildren,6 step grandchildren,and 2 sisters, Alice Clark of Ottumwa, and Donna(Buck) Kennedy of Oskaloosa. He was preceeded by his parents,2 brothers ,Frank A Myers, Virgil Myers and ,2 sisters Marjorie Lalk and Pearle Stocker.
