Description	:	John Diede The funeral for John Diede, 78, formerly of 1105 Fourth St. N.E., who died Friday, will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Huron mission Church, Eighteenth and Frank Ave. S. E., with the Rev. Richard Dugan officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Clarence Holforty, Leonard Hays, LeRoy Wahl, W.R. Hickcox, Paul Ames and Ernest Venables. John Diede was born Dec. 31, 1896, to Jacob and Caroline Diede, at Lesterville, in Bon Homme County. At the age of eight he came with his family to Alpena. He married Christina Brenner, Nov. 21, 1916, at a country church near Alpena. They farmed south of Virgil until moving to Huron in 1937. He was employed at Nash-Finch and Park-Grant companies for 24 years until his retirement in 1962. The Diedes celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1966. His wife died Feb. 12, 1970, when he took residency in the Huron Nursing Home where he had resided since. He had been a member of Huron Mission Church since 1937. Survivors include three sons, Richard A. of West Point, Neb., Edmund R. of Huron, Milbert H. of Park Rapids, Minn.; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, mike, Scotland; two sisters, Mrs. Carl (Christine) Gorham, Huron and Mrs. Ted (Adeline) Skinner, Beresford; one uncle, August Diede, Bismarck, N.D. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Donna Diede, his parents, and two brothers, Jake and Christ.
