[tho dying in 2020, it was not due to the covid-19 pandemic virus] John was born to the late Bertie Morgan Husband and John Dudley Husband on April 23, 1935, in Sumter, SC. He graduated Edmunds High School in the class of 1953** & attended The Citadel and developed a thyroid goiter his sophomore year & had to drop out & later enrolled at The University of South Carolina and graduated. He was a banker by trade and worked at South Carolina National Bank and Wachovia. John lived a life full of the most important things to him, family, serving others and spreading the love of Christ. He was the most selfless man, ready and willing to welcome a stranger and give to those in need. He leaves a legacy of insurmountable faith that lives in the lives of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. His daughter living in Rock Hill, he was in a nursing home there for some time & than developed a malignancy of his blood and was moved to his daughter's home where she take care of him with help from his 3 sons. John is preceded in death by Barbara Anne Husband, his beautiful wife of 58 years. He is survived by his daughter, Jane Husband Perrin (Robert) of Rock Hill; sons John Dudley Husband III (Nancy) of Columbia, Richard Kent Husband (Kendra) of Clover and Allen Ray Husband (Stena) of Columbia; grandchildren, Lauren Husband Bryant (Ryan,) Logan Husband Fowles (Jimmy), Savannah Perrin, Chase Perrin, Kailee Husband, Karina Husband, Kensley Husband, Sydney Husband and Isaiah Husband; great grandchildren, Ralen Bryant, James Henry Fowles, John Hampton Fowles, Eli Husband and Walker Cole; sister; Johnnie Brown; and a loving extended family of in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews. John's family will cherish the memories of family beach trips, his hilarious jokes, and his sweet tooth that has been passed down through the generations. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the exceptional staff at White Oak Manor, Hospice and Palliative Care Palmetto Region, and to John's granddaughter, Savannah Perrin, who went above and beyond, around the clock, to ensure his comfort, care and dignity during his final weeks at home. "Seek the Lord and His strength, seek His presence continually."- 1 Cor. 16:11 John sought the Lord and His strength, he sought His presence continually. Well done, good and faithful servant. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 5, 2020, at the Wilson Community Cemetery at Union United Methodist Church with Pastor David Spears officiating.
