Description	:	On Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, Jack Long passed away surrounded by family. John "Jack" Durwood Long, son of John and Winifred (Norris) Long, was born on Aug. 19, 1934, in Burt, Iowa. The family moved to Marmarth, N.D., in 1944, where Jack attended Marmarth High School and married Donnetta Boucher in 1954. Jack and Donnetta moved their family to Baker, and later to Billings, Mont. Together they had five children: Rhonda, John, Keith, Pamela and Scott. Read More	On Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, Jack Long passed away surrounded by family. John "Jack" Durwood Long, son of John and Winifred (Norris) Long, was born on Aug. 19, 1934, in Burt, Iowa. The family moved to Marmarth, N.D., in 1944, where Jack attended Marmarth High School and married Donnetta Boucher in 1954. Jack and Donnetta moved their family to Baker, and later to Billings, Mont. Together they had five children: Rhonda, John, Keith, Pamela and Scott. Their union ended in divorce, and then he later married Lynn Carranco in Billings, adding Stephanie and Brent Carranco to his family. Lynn and Jack's marriage ended after 32 years. During Jack's life, he had many successful business ventures including ranching, trucking and a construction company with his brother Duane Long. Jack was a man who loved his family and friends, and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of his life. Some of his hobbies included crosswords, fishing, playing cards and being with his family and friends at the VFW. Jack is survived by daughter Rhonda and grandson Cameron Tavares; son John (Shannon) Long and granddaughter Corri; son Edgar Keith (Tammy) Long; son Scott (Nancy) Schaefer and granddaughters Alex and Veronica and grandson Zach; daughter Stephanie (Alan) Abelman and granddaughter Jenelle; son Brent Carranco and granddaughter Kayla; three great-grandchildren; brother Duane (Carol) Long; sister Gloria Hendry; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Winifred Long; daughter Pamela; grandson Brandon; and sisters Beverly and Sandy. The memorial service will be held at Smith's Funeral Chapel West, 304 34th St. W., at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 24. Dad and Papa, you will be truly missed. We love you!
