Description	:	"John E. Jones, age 81, of Versailles, passed away Friday evening, September 19, 2014, at the Good Shepherd Care Center in Versailles. He was born January 14, 1933, in Morgan County, Missouri, a son of the late Edgar E. and Blanch O. (Silvey) Jones. He was united in marriage to Mary G. Coats and she preceded him in death in September of 1985. He later married Peggy A. Silvey who preceded him in death on January 25, 2009. Jones, age 81, of Versailles, passed away Friday evening, September 19, 2014, at the Good Shepherd Care Center in Versailles. He was born January 14, 1933, in Morgan County, Missouri, a son of the late Edgar E. and Blanch O. (Silvey) Jones. He was united in marriage to Mary G. Coats and she preceded him in death in September of 1985. He later married Peggy A. Silvey who preceded him in death on January 25, 2009. John was a United States Army veteran having served in the Korean Conflict. He retired from Ameren UE after 30 years of service. John was a member of the American Legion Post 104 in Versailles. Some of John’s favorite hobbies included hunting, fishing, gardening and watching NASCAR. He is survived by his son, Bruce Jones and wife Kathy of Versailles, Missouri; daughters, Jennifer Wise and husband Terry of Kenosha, Wisconsin and Jacqueline Brown and husband Donald of Atlanta, Georgia; eight grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; his brother, Pete Jones and wife Louella of Versailles and many other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and wives, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, a son, John David Jones and a great-granddaughter, Hope Dunklee. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 24th, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles with Pastor Rudy Beard officiating. Graveside services and interment with full military honors will follow in the Versailles Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 23rd, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Morgan County Caring for Kids Coalition.
