GREGORY RITES WEDNESDAY FOR JACK DRISCOLL, 46 By Republic News Service GREGORY -- Funeral services for Jack Driscoll, 46, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Memorial Auditorium in Gregory. Mr. Driscoll died at the Community Hospital in Gregory March 26, as the result of a heart attack. He was manager of the municipal liquor store in Gregory. The rites will be conducted by the Rev. Daryl Stahl of Dallas. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post of Gregory and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post of Burke. Burial will be in the I00F Cemetery with the Kotrba Funeral Home in charge of arrangements, Pallbearers will be Harley Hill, Larry Thomas, Don Milligan, and Lyle Hanbek of Gregory, Bill Day, Sr., of Dallas and Glenn Berendes of Winner. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Cahoy, Bernie Dunn, George Wilkinson and R.D. Schlaht of Gregory and William Deroak of Dallas. Mr. Driscoll was born April 7, 1914 at Colome, the son of James and Ella Driscoll. He married LaVerne Hoffie of Gregory Jan. 15, 1946 at Burke. The couple had lived in Gregory since that time. Deceased owned and operated the Roundup Bar in Gregory and for the past several years had been manager of the municipal liquor store. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the 117th Reconnaissance Mechanized Calvary Squadron as a light-tank crewman with the rank of sergeant from 1942 to 1945. He was one of the first American's to enter Berlin. He received the Purple Heart award and Silver Star award for valor in action, and Bronze Arrowhead and many others. Survivors are his widow; one step-son, Gary Hahn of Seattle; his mother, Mrs. Ella Driscoll of Butte, Neb., two brothers, Francis of Gregory and Patrick of Salem, Ore., and one sister, Mrs. Virgil Cork of Butte, Neb.
