Description	:	JOHN ED MULLINAX John Ed Mullinax, 74, of Crab Orchard, passed away May 5, 2001. Funeral services were held May 8 from the Chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home with Bro. Glen Davenport officiating. There was also a Masonic service and Shriner Guard. Grave committal was held May 9 at Haley's Grove Cemetery. Mr. Mullinax was born Sept. 2, 1926, in Cumberland County, the son of Franklin McDow and Vada Louisa Pennicuff Mullinax. Mr. Mullinax served on the Democratic Committee, was alderman and then mayor of Crab Orchard for several years. He was a Shriner and involved in the community, especially in support of senior citizens, Head Start, Crab Orchard Recreational Park and Crab Orchard Cyclone ball team. He is survived by his wife, Darlena Welch Mullinax of Crab Orchard; son Jeff W. Mullinax of Crab Orchard; daughters Loretta Davenport, Joetta Monday and Lisa Bilbrey, all of Crab Orchard; Brenda Phillips, Kathy Alderman and Sandra Mullinax, all of Crossville; and Daphne Harvey of Pikeville, TN; 23 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters Ruby Hassler, Illine Rose and Dixie Hood, all of Crab Orchard; and brothers Kenneth Mullinax and Clyde Mullinax, both of Crab Orchard; Steve Mullinax of Crossville; and Billy Joe Mullinax of Virginia Beach, VA. Mr. Mullinax was preceded in death by a son, John Leonard Mullinax; and brother, Grady Eugene Mullinax. Pallbearers were Michael Thompson, Joe Thompson, Wade Thompson, Rodney Davenport, Trent Mullinax, Timothy Eldridge, Chad Harvey and Cain Monday. Bilbrey Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
