Description	:	John Edward Boxler, 71, of Sterling, died Sunday, Oct. 24, 1993 at his home. Visitation and viewing to begin at 10 a.m., today, Oct. 27, at Chaney-Walters Funeral Home chapel. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Holy Cross Episcopal Church with Father John H. Spence officiating. Military graveside services by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 3541 at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mr. Boxler was born March 24, 1922 in St. Peter, Kan., to Anton and Barbara Rolther Boxler. Military graveside services by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 3541 at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mr. Boxler was born March 24, 1922 in St. Peter, Kan., to Anton and Barbara Rolther Boxler. The family moved from Kansas to Sterling in 1928, where John attended school. After his schooling he joined the Marines and served from August 1942 to March 1944 as a staff sergeant. In the Marines he served in the Pacific area during the capture of defense of Guadalcanal. He married Margie Ann Volz on June 5, 1979 in Fort Morgan. He worked as a meat cutter at U-Save until his retirement in 1985. He was a member of Holy Cross Episcopal Church, Veterans of Foreign wars No. 3541, American Legion Post No. 20 and was a life time member of the Sterling Elks Lodge, No. 1336. He is survived by his wife Margie Anne of Sterling; step-children, JoAnn Schomerus of Englewood, Richard Volz of Fort Morgan and Jim Volz of Sterling; brothers, Tony and Pete both of Sterling; sister, Helen Dillie of Denver, eight step-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Cross Episcopal Church in memory of John Boxler.
