Quinn, at his home in Washington township, Wednesday morning, March 23, 1927 at 10:55 o'clock. Funeral services were held Friday morning at 10:00 o'clock at the Catholic church in Massena, the services being in charge of Rev. Father O'Donnell. Interment was made in the Massena cemetery. Funeral services were held Friday morning at 10:00 o'clock at the Catholic church in Massena, the services being in charge of Rev. Father O'Donnell. Interment was made in the Massena cemetery. John F. Quinn was born in West Meath county, Ireland, June 1843, being aged 93 years, 9 months, and 5 days at the time of his demise. For a time, Mr. Quinn was in British service as a policeman at Dublin, Ireland. He came to American on the 16th of April 1866 and spent four years in New York, then located in Illinois, where he spent about one year and on the 17th of July 1871, was married in Chicago to Mary Sheehan. Mr. and Mrs. Quinn came to town immediately after their marriage and located on a farm in Washington township, Adams county, where they have spent their married life, with the exception of five years residence in Creston. Mr. Quinn was prominent in matters of interest in his township. He was assessor and trustee at various times, servicing as a township officer over 20 years. He was a splendid citizen, admired by numerous friends for his many good qualities. To Mr. and Mrs. Quinn eight children were born, all of whom survive their father. They are Mrs. Mary Moore and Mrs. D. A. Sullivan of Corning; Miss Jane Quinn of Des Moines; Mike Quinn, residing in Lincoln township; Mrs. Nellie Marshall, Atlantic; Tom, John, and Frances Quinn, at home. Beside his children Mr. Quinn leaves his wife and companion of many years, nineteen grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren to mourn his departure from this life. He will be greatly missed by many friends.
