Siebels, age 68, of Amber, died Friday morning, April 28, 2000 at his residence in Amber of heart failure. John was born in Amber on September 14, 1931 to George and Laura Toenjes Siebels. He was baptized and confirmed at Wayne Zion Lutheran Church. He attended Wayne Township #7 schools in Amber and graduated from Anamosa High School with the class of 1950. He worked in Siebels General Store and in LP gas delivering and services. John served in active duty in the Korean Conflict from 1952 - 1954 with the 555 Field Artillery. He and Mary Ann Eggers married at Wayne Zion Lutheran Church on July 17, 1960. He was a life-long member of Wayne Zion Lutheran Church. John enjoyed all sports, especially Hawkeye basketball. He enjoyed his pets, feeding the birdie, playing cards, going for long drives and being with his family and friends. He will be missed by his loving family and friends.
