John Fay, son of John and Johanna Fay, was born November 28, 1864 in Jones county, Iowa, and passed away May 6, 1951, at St. Anthony's hospital in Carroll, at the age of 86 years, 5 months and 8 days. Mrs. (sic) Fay came to Cedar township, Greene county, Iowa, with his parents at the age of seven years. There he grew to manhood. On January 20, 1900, he was united in marriage to Anna Loretta Wallace in St. Patrick's church in Cedar township. To this union were born eight sons. Mr. Fay was a member of St. Patrick's church in Cedar township. He was preceded In death by his parents; his wife, who passed away in 1936; and two sons, John, who passed away in 1939 and Marten who passed away in 1936. Those surviving are six sons, Clarence of Tipton; Art of Scranton; Joe of Elston; Ralph of Fort Dodge; Charles of Scranton; and Ray of Churdan, and sixteen grandchildren.
