| Description | : | John was the son of Thomas and Sarah(Stedman) Fletcher. He married Mary Darkin on Sept.13 1826 in Isleham. They had 15 children, 10 of whom lived to maturity. John immigrated to America on Jan. 2 1855 with six of his children after Mary passed away. They traveled to Clinton county, Iowa where his oldest daughter Ester (Joseph) Stinton lived. Two sons, John-1830 and Robert-1832, passed away in England and are buried there.
