He was baptized at St Peter's Evangelical and Reformed church, Tripoli, and confirmed there April 7, 1895 by the Rev Jacob Nuesch. He was married March 27, 1907, to Amanda Schwarze at Tripoli by the Rev J F Dilges He was a life-time member of St Peter's Evangelical and Reformed church, Tripoli, and served on the church board a number of years. He was a charter member of the Churchmen's Brotherhood. He farmed south of Tripoli until 1947 when he and his wife retired and moved to Tripoli He is survived by his wife, one son, Everett, Fredricksburg, two daughters, Nrs H H Hoppenworth and Mrs Elmer Wilharm, both of Tripoli, Two sisters, Mrs Louise Stevenson, Minneapolis, Minn., and Mrs Emma Stenzel, National City, Calif. 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, two brothers and two sisters Funeral services were held Monday, July 23, at 1:45 at the Funeral Home and at 2 pm from St Peter's Evangelical and Reformed church. Burial was in St Peter's cemetery. [Waverly newspaper]
