Read More	John Fritheoph Wenstrand May 11,1884-Oct 4,1955 John F. Wenstrand, son of Carl Peter and Johannah Wenstrand was born May 11, 1884 at Wakefield, Nebraska. He received his education in the elementary schools and later attended Cotner College at Lincoln. He was baptized and confirmed in the Mission Covenant Church, attending Sunday school and services regularly as a child, and when a young man became a member of the Christian Church. He left Wakefield in 1908 for Seattle, where he was employed the last 30 years in the Seattle National Bank. He served as a member of the National Guard in the Mexican uprising and later as Quarter Master Sargent in World War I. Mr. Wenstrand lived a full and fruitful life, enjoying it as he lived it, numbering his friends by his acquaintances. He was known as a true and unfailing friend, always thinking of others than himself. His Christian character stands as a lasting tribute to his memory and cherished by his loved ones. He departed this life October 4, 1955 in a Seattle hospital, the result of a heart attack. He leaves to mourn his loss his brother, Mr. Gust Wenstrand and sisters, Mrs. Emily Seagren, Mrs. Leonard Olson and Mrs. Herbert Johnson, many relatives and friends. Memorial services had been conducted at Seattle on Thursday October 6. Last rites were held at the Mission Covenant Church, Sunday afternoon October 9 with Rev. Melvin Pederson officiating and interment in the Wakefield Cemetery. Mr. Larry Johnson sang "Beyond the Sunset" accompanied by Mrs. Harry Wendel. Mrs.Wendel sang "The Last Mile of the Way." Pallbearers were nephews of the deceased, Russell and Kenneth Wenstrand, Maurice and Harold Olson; Ernest Johnson and Clarence Pearson. Wakefield Republican: October 13, 1955.
